National Gas - Transmission Data Portal
This project was strategically devised to streamline access and facilitate the rapid assimilation of daily transmission data pertinent to National Gas. The primary challenge confronted in the course of this initiative was to craft an aesthetically pleasing summary page, all the while optimizing for operational efficiency to minimize implementation time and resource utilization. The project sought to strike a delicate balance between an engaging visual interface and the imperative of maintaining a lean infrastructure footprint for expeditious deployment.
Proposed designs
To navigate the delicate equilibrium between optimizing for the most refined iteration and delivering a minimum viable product, I meticulously developed two distinct versions. This strategic approach allowed me to present both options to the product owner, facilitating a comprehensive showcase to higher-level stakeholders. The intent was to elicit informed decisions on the most suitable path forward, aligning with the overarching objectives and preferences of the project's key stakeholders.
Optimising space above the fold
The scope of this project was expanded to encompass an additional objective, namely the optimization of all spaces above the fold throughout the entire site. To fulfill this mandate, a comprehensive audit was conducted, involving meticulous examination and adjustment of the site's layout. The primary focus was on minimizing unnecessary gaps and optimizing banner sizes with a keen emphasis on space efficiency. The overarching goal was to liberate valuable real estate above the fold, ensuring a judicious allocation of space that maximizes the visibility and impact of substantive content.
